Alec has delegated numerous times at Guelph City Council; speaking out against wasteful spending, rising property taxes and capital debt, selfish remuneration, homelessness, closing of the warming centre, the day-time shelter debacle, downtown parking, support for downtown businesses during construction, under usage of the Sleeman Centre, and downtown safety.
Alec is running for Ward 2 City Council to hold the line on taxes, demand real accountability from City Hall; and reinvest those savings into better social services and stronger, safer and more connected neighbourhoods.

Grassroots Community Voice
Alec is building a unique grassroots movement where everyone has a role, not just big donors. He is capping individual donations at $25 – so you can give $5, $10 or $25 – because he does not want to be beholden to developers or special interest groups; and instead wants his campaign to answer to ordinary residents.
This approach ensures that his campaign is powered by a broad base of supporters, giving each person a sense of ownership and pride in helping to shape Ward 2’s future.
